Sir Geoffrey Vos’s Keynote Address
In his keynote address at Justice for the Accused, Sir Geoffrey Vos, the Master of the Rolls, argued that modern justice must be equally accessible and fair to everyone, and that the complexity and volume of civil and criminal cases today require embracing new technologies like AI to deliver outcomes more quickly and proportionately without sacrificing fundamental fairness. He said society now expects “justice for all,” and that there should be a careful debate about how and when technology can assist or make judicial decisions while ensuring procedural fairness and human judgment remain central where necessary.
