Disability Discrimination Policy

Policy Statement
CS-GB CIC is committed to promoting equality, dignity, and respect for all individuals. We do not tolerate discrimination of any kind, including on the grounds of disability. We strive to ensure that all aspects of the Justice for All Series 2025–2026 are inclusive, accessible, and welcoming to people with disabilities.

Legal Framework
This policy aligns with the principles of:

  • The Equality Act 2010 (UK)
  • The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
  • UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16: Promoting inclusive societies and access to justice for all

The Equality Act 2010 is a cornerstone of anti-discrimination law in the UK, consolidating previous legislation and providing a comprehensive legal framework aimed at protecting individuals from discrimination, harassment, and victimisation. It mandates reasonable adjustments in various sectors, including employment, education, and services, to ensure people with disabilities are not at a disadvantage.

Additionally, the UK is a signatory to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), an international treaty that promotes and protects the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities. The Convention obliges signatory countries to adopt measures that safeguard the rights of persons with disabilities and ensure their full participation in society.

The Justice for All Series 2025–2026 is strongly aligned to UN SDG 16 which aims to ensure access to justice for all, including those with disabilities, and to build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels. The goal encompasses reducing violence, combating corruption, promoting the rule of law, and ensuring public access to information.
